This private housing scheme won several national housing awards in the mid-to-late 1970s. Designed by the small architectural firm of Mervyn Seal and Associates, where I was a Senior Associate for two or three years, the layout incorporated many design concepts derived from the “townscape” philosophy of British urban designer Gordon Cullen.
